This projects with several interfaces related to the competence of young professionals and the necessities of employers and the 21st century labor market. Surveys from the recent years report that – despite the continuous adoption of technology and digitalization – employers seek for professionals with adapting skills and high personal competences. This type is often called as the T-type.

Nevertheless, universities and other HEIs have often failed in equipping professionals with these skills. This worry – which has even been put forward in the Modernization agenda for European higher education institutes – is challenging as well the employability of graduated professionals as their capacity to contribute in the job positions they work in. Most probably the reasons for this lie in an insufficient discussion between HEIs and the labor market.

Many professional degree programs lead to a diversity of fields and even more extensive diversity of job positions, which has made inevitable that the HEIs might not have a precise insight on the character and qualifications of the occupation where their graduates work.
Another reason is, that there is not enough knowledge of adequate methods to be used in learning environments and curricula planning.

This project proposes measures that will lead towards a better understanding about the personal core skills needed in the 21st century.
The measures will enable setting shared goals to learning and self- improvement of personal skills, give tools to the HEIs and lead to a better understanding between HEIs and labor market.
